Suggest Treatment For Worms In Intestines

Posted on Fri, 26 Sep 2014
Question: Dear Sir,
Good evening
I am 29 years old, 5ft 7in, 70kg.
I fear having worms in my stomach/intestine.
I find signs of itching in my lower back, it pinches suddenly such as leaving my whole body shiver for few seconds. I don't feel physically strong, poor concentration, lazy and sleepy at times, find imaginary dots flying in front of my eyes, even though having a good diet.
Had a check up almost 6 years back, but it was clear.
Please clarify, is it due to excess worries or should I go for a checkup again.
Thanks & Regards

Brief Answer:
Clarifications

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
However i would like to have a few more clarifications before I can answer your query:
1) Did you undergo stool examination?
2) Can you accept a possibility that it can be something other than the worms in the intestine?
Hoping to hear from you some time soon.
Kind regards
Dr. Srikanth Reddy MD

Dear Sir,

1. I have not gone through any tests till now(before I discussed with you), otherwise 6 yrs. back they scanned my stomach completely, but it looked clear.

2. A sudden biting sensation, I don't think of anything else..neither I am involved in any false addiction alcohol/drugs which is causing this.

Please clarify.

Thanks & Regards

Brief Answer:
Possibility of delusional parasitosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for all the additional information.
The fact that the CT scan and other tests have come out normal and the doctor cannot find any superficial lesions on your body, there is a possibility that it could be a delusional parasitosis. This may occur even in absence of drug abuse. I know that you are suffering and you will certainly feel better if you take treatment.
The medication that would suit you are duloxetine 20 mg at night and pimozine 2 mg during day. Both these medicines are very useful in controlling the problems that you are having. I would suggest that you should meet a psychiatrist of your local area and get these medicines prescribed by him as you will be requiring a prescription from a local doctor to procure the medicines in the pharmacy of your country.
Hope this helps
Kind regards
