Suggest Treatment For Withdrawal Symptoms Of Lamictal

default
Posted on Wed, 16 Dec 2015
Question: I have been feeling very nauseous. I am lowering the dosage of lamictal and increasing the dosage of Latuda. The plan is to stop lamictal completely. I have gone from 300 mg to 200 mg almost 2 weeks ago and will soon lower the dosage to 100. Could this be the reason for my nauseousness. I am not ill otherwise. I also am sweating a lot.

Brief Answer:
Yes ma'am, nausea is quite commonly associated with tapering

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Yes ma'am, nausea and dizziness are common symptoms experienced during the tapering process. But from literature and studies, these 2 symptoms are seen in individuals who go about speeding the tapering process. But in my opinion you are going at a good pace and need not slow down. Just be patient and also report the symptoms to the doctor helping you with the tapering process.

As for the sweating, it is not a common symptoms but can be associated with other symptoms like aggressiveness, anger, mode swings, etc. Let me also list some of the other more common symptoms experienced just for your reference:

+Anger
+Anxiety
+Mood swings
+Balance issues
+Nausea
+Dizziness
+Fatigue
+Problems with concentration
+Depression
+Changes in character
+Vomiting
+Headaches
+Tingling sensation
+Irritability.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
