Suggest Treatment For Withdrawal Effects Of Oxytrol Patch

default
Posted on Tue, 8 Nov 2016
Question: I took the oxytrol patch off 11/2 week ago and I am still waiting for the side effects of dry mouth, constipation and blurred vision to go away. Do you know how long it will take to go away?

Brief Answer:
Withdrawal effects.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Oxytrol (Oxybutynin Transdermal) is an antispasmodic used to treat symptoms of overactive bladder. It may give the mentioned side effects when suddenly removed. That is not the right way to remove it. You need to put the patch from time to time and gradually decrease the frequency of use. The dose of Oxytrol is one 3.9 mg/day system applied twice weekly (every 3 to 4 days). Subsequently reduce its use. Your 'side effects' or withdrawal symptoms will go away.

I have already taken the patch off and I am now on
Myrbetriq 25mg 1 a day.
Will the side effects of the oxytrol patch still go away without putting it back on?

Brief Answer:
Intervention required.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Withdrawal symptoms are different from side effects. You are having withdrawal symptoms and not side effects. They are unlikely to go away without any intervention. I would recommend seeing a doctor. Myrbetriq (mirabegron) would not help in this regard.
