Brief Answer:
Weight reduction is the only treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Yes PCOD is a common but very difficult to treat problem.
It may have no effect on menstruation, fertility or weight but can lead to profound effects in the form of irregular cycles, infertility and weight gain.
Actually the relationship of weight gain is very complex and deep.
More the weight, more is Polycystic nature of ovaries and vice the versa.
The only way to deal with polycystic ovaries is an active lifestyle and weight reduction.
In case you have any other question please feel free to ask.

Brief Answer:
Diet and exercise

Detailed Answer:
At this stage our target is not to control regularity of periods and rather I'm more concerned about the weight gain (surely you too).
For weight reduction. -
- diet modification is most important (70% role) so take a diet plan first and concentrate on eating 1800 calories by avoiding excessive calorie intake.
- regular walk of at least 30 minutes
- in case your routine allows join a gym and give your body time to breathe and release relaxing and refreshing hormones
Try above measures and Therd are chances that even periods get regular (seen in 30-40% of cases).
All the best
