Brief Answer:
Thyroid problems should be excluded and an ECG to see the cardiac rhythm.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I read carefully your concerns.
Regarding to your symptoms and signs i do recommend,if you haven't abused with drinks such as coffees, energy drinks ect., first of all to rule out an over production of the thyroid hormones and do an ECG to see the cardiac rhythm.
You didn't mentioned if you are diagnosed with an adrenal problem before and if you are taking treatment for it.
If not, a physical examination is very important in order to see if it really is an adrenal problem and than check the 24 hour urine cortisol.
I am opened for further questions.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta

Brief Answer:
Recommend the above exams at first.

Detailed Answer:
In persons who do gain in weight and do not have physical activity, tachycardia is expected. Anyway you must do the above exams (TSH,FT4,FT3 and ECG) to rule out any thyroid or cardiac problem.
If you can not find any reason for your weight gain (lack of physical activity, eating more than normally,) than you may check the adrenal function (Cortisol level).
Please ask me again if still you do have any query.
