Brief Answer:
Gastroenteritis needs to be treated with ORS

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthCareMagic. Diarrhoea is a common problem in children. It is generally caused due to a virus called rotavirus although it can also be caused by certain bacteria. Unless associated with bloody stools, the cause does not need to be treated and resolves spontaneously in a few days. But replenishment of the lost salt and water with ORS is essential without which dehydration would occur ad evidenced by the tiredness. No need to give gramogyl which contains metronidazole which is not likely to be effective anyway. You may give ondansetron to reduce vomiting. You may or may not give neutolin b. Restrict milk and milk based products for a week. Curd or yogurt can be given. Syr Zinconia containing Zinc would also be helpful.

Hope that answers your query. Feel free to revert back with further queries if any.
