Brief Answer:
Query for vitreous haemorrhage

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
Since you can not offer more information i am assuming that we are dealing with vitreous hemorrhage. Your daughter being diabetic what you have to know is
1) Status of retina,diabetic retinopathy
2) possible complications of surgery
3) chances of recurrence of this hemorrhage
4) do s and dont s after surgery
5) status of kidnies
I feel this will help you to get a full picture when you meet the surgeon.
Any further query in this regard you may get back to me .

Hi, I had a small vitreous hemorrhage following PVD about 8 months ago (an initial streak followed by thousands of black dots in my vision) from a blood vessle tear on optical nerver. The blood cleared fairly quickly the first two weeks and my corrected vision is 20 20 but has not gotten better since then. When I adjust focus and stair at white background, I can actually see hundreds of tiny circles that I presume are ghost cells. The Dr. was primarily concerned with retinal tears which thankfully I didn't get and has said there's nothing that can be done about a small bit of residual blood in vitreous However, it is very annoying as it swirls around every time I look around. Again my eyesight has returned to 20 20 but I haven't managed to ignore it as I'm involuntarily reminded every minute or so. There are two slightly larger faint spots that are yellowish in sunny conditions. I read that in Asia (Japan, China, Korea) they treat vitreous hemorrhage with iodized lecithin (wo-liteng of jolethin) but there seems no treatment here shy of victrectomy which is not indicated. Do you have any suggestions? Does this ever get better on its own? It's been 8 months. Thank you.
