Whats the cure
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Yogesh D (33 hours later)
Brief Answer: There is no cure as of now. Detailed Answer: Hello again, Thanks for writing back. I regret to tell you that there is no cure for vitiligo as of now, but there are promising researches going on in the form of stem cell transplantation and gene therapy. In some countries you can get stem transplantation now, but it is not available in all the countries. There are many medicines and other treatment options that are currently used to increase the pigment content like. 1. Narrow band UV-B phototherapy, 2. Psoralen photochemotherapy. 3. Laser therapy. 4. Steroid therapy. 5. Topical tacrolimus ointment (0.03% or 0.1%) is an effective alternative therapy for vitiligo. You will have to consult a dermatologist to better understand the problem and treatment options, you can not use any of these treatments without a dermatologist as it maybe evident from the names alone. I hope this answers your question, please feel free to write back if you need further clarifications. Regards.
