didn't spread over years. will it spread? no treatment taken its not there on any other body parts. Wil it spread is it hereditary
doctor
Answered by Dr. Atishay Bukharia (5 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Very little chance of spreading

Detailed Answer:
There is very little chance of spreading now.

Yes it has genetic component associated with it, while in most cases it is acquired disorder and is associated with autoimmune nature in which antibodies causes destruction of melanocytes.

I think you should go for treatment, although white hair in the lesion denotes relatively poor prognosis because the melanocytes usually derived from the hair follicle..

Hope it helps

Poor prognosis means very difficult to treat.

grey hair indicate that chances of repigmentation is there on treatment.

yes it could be a segmental vitiligo. it is not necessary to have segmental vitiligo from Childhood.

there is no problem in marrying this guy, the chances of this disease in children is only marginally higher than those with normal colour.
