Suggest Treatment For Vitiligo Around Eyes And Penis
Question: Hi,
I suffer from a few areas of vitiligo around eyes (since 15) And on penis since 19.
In last 6 month ive noticed some premature hairs and i cant tell if they are because of small vitiligo patches or just grey hairs.
Should I buy a wood lamp? Would this tell me if it is due to vitiligo spots?
I did see a dermatologist but my hair was longer then so he couldnt see now its shaved.
I seen some for cheap so should I buy one will it work?

These gray hair is due to white patch as hair follicle has also lost their pigment.Graying of hair at the site of vitiliginous patch is poor sign of prognosis, as medical treatment proliferates the melanin pigment of hair root.
No, wood lamp has no role in vitiligo pigmentation. you should buy UVB lamp or UVA lamp (Ultraviolet A or B). the light of UVA should be focused on the vitiligo patch after taking Psoralen tablet with precaution to eyes.
Wood lamp wont help whether cheap or costly. Buy a PUVA/PUVB lamp.

The problem I've got is Im not sure if it is a white patch on my scalp at all, my eyes keep playing tricks. But a wood lamp would let me know if it was vitiligo on my scalp?
