Brief Answer:
vitamin B12 supplements are recommended.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and understand your concerns.

You have mentioned that your vitamin B12 levels are 68.36 pg/ml. You are being treated under psychiatry for insomnia, anxiety and depression. You now also have tickling sensation on feet.

I would like to tell you that your vitamin B12 levels are extremely below than normal range. There is extensive scientific evidence that Vitamin B12 deficiency of this level can itself cause symptoms overlapping with depression, anxiety and insomnia.

I would advise you to take Vitamin B12 injections (as the values are very low), but under your doctor's guidence. Once vitamin B12 levels become level, your all the symptoms might improve and you might not even require psychotropic medications.

Hope this helps.
If you have any further queries, you are most welcome. Kindly close the discussion and give your valueable feedback if you feel satisfied with the response.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Vitamin B12 helps in certain important body functions.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for posting the follow-up query.

Dear XXXX,
I can understand your curiosity.

I will try to explain you in simple language, the mechanism how vitamin B12 deficiency cause these symptoms of depression, anxiety, insomnia and other psychiatric symptoms:

1. B12 supports myelin (which allows nerve impulses to conduct) and when this vitamin is deficient, it results in memory weakness and other neurological symptoms.
2. It is also critical for detoxification and elimination of chemicals, building and metabolizing neurotransmitters, and producing energy and cell membranes. These are those chemicals which accumulate in our body when we are under stress.

The long-term, untreated, deficiency of vitamin B12 usually leads to the symptoms of lethargy, tingling sensations in limbs, depression, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, mood swings etc.

Hope this satisfies your curiosity. Feel free to ask further if you have more queries.

Wish you good health.

Thanks.
