Question: I am 31 year old male.
History:
High myopia since childhood, wear contact lenses of -19 power on bogh eyes.
retinal detachment surgery in ldft eye in 2006. Buckle removed after infection in 2007.
Retinal detachment surgery in right eye in 2011. Buckle still inside.
Nasal polyps, mostly allergic

Present problem:
Around 15 days ago i had burning while urinating late at night. My right eye was red too. Next day was monday, and i fixed appointments with my family GP As well as my opthalmologist at shroff eye centre. On tuesday, i stopped wearing my lenses ie on 18th aug. the ophthalmologist checked my retina, found it okay. She found the buckle also infection free. She told me my eye might be red because of onset of viral fever and prescribed me milflox drops and refresh tear drops.
My blood and urine analysis came perfectly fine. Kidney n liver function okay. Diabetes negative. Sodium pjosphorus etc all ok. Urine ph 5.5
Same day my gp said the same, that urine burning is due to onset of viral. And gave me levofloxacin 500 ine tab per day plus sumo for fever plus a multi vitamin.
On 19th my left eye got red too.
On 20th night urination became so painfull, that it made me cry. The pain/burning was on the end of urethra.
On 21st i visited the gp again, he made me strip to check my penis. He asked me if i've had unprotected sex in last 15-20 days. My answer to that was no. He didnt look at my eyes as he knew they are being taken care by another doctor. My GP added uriliser 3 times a day plus pyredium 3 times a day.
By 22nd morning i had slight relief in urinary discomfort, but my right eye was burning alot. Also my eyes were stuck by the discharge. Same day i saw my opthalmologist who upon seeing me said i have got viral conjunctivitis. She checked and found my cornea very dry(which i later googled to be a side effect of pyredium). She asked me to put vigamox 6times a day, refresh gel every hour, acular ls twice a day, eyemist hypromellose gel four times a day.
By 23rd my eyes felt a little better, they were still red but a little less.

On 26th i met my GP, my urinary discomfort was 10% only now. My eyes were 20% red with some water. GP stopped my levofloxacin, put me on a 7 day course of nitrobest antibiotic twice a day. He also gave me flotral tablet to be taken before bed.

My urinary discomfort was totally gobe by 27th afternoon. I stopped flotral as it interfered with my bp n i read it has an ocular sidd effect too. My eyes are just 5% red. They dont water in day time, but are stuck shut every morning. Three days and my eyes are stable but stuck at that last stage. I dont understand the absence of alot of discharge day time, except very slightly wet caruncles. But each morning they are stuck shut. I am unable to work for fifteen days as i cant put on my lenses. I have a very very important meeting on tuesday. My appointment with opthalmologist is scheduled for monday. What do you think it looks like? When do u think i can put on my lenses?

Brief Answer:
Conjunctivitis

Detailed Answer:
My Dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
You seem to be having a resolving conjunctivitis. This has a mixed infection. There is a certain amount of infection still lingering.
What you should do now is put in Zoxan eyeoointment or Ciplox eye ointment in the night and put in antibiotic eye drops then put in your contact lens and carry on with your working and remove the Lens in the night put in drops and apply ointment last thing before going to bed.
You will be fine and please do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard

Brief Answer:
conjunctivitis

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for getting back to us.
This infection is now resolving and may still take about a week to go away completely because this has taken so long to reach this stage.
These are mostly contact infections so the only thing you can do is NOT to touch the eyes.Endogenous infection is not what you can do anything about. Not touching the eyes will prevent contact conjunctivitis to reach you.
Lifestyle management is what you should do.proper diet exercise and rest with a watch on strenous exercise to avoid recurrence of retinal detachment is the goal.
Please do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.

Sir i went to my eye doctor today. She said the recovery is 80% done. She checked my eye through a slit lamp and said something like "the viral infection has gone slightly deeper". She then said "lets givd you an anti viral as precaution". She has discontinued vigomox. I am asked to apple ganciclovir gel twice a day and refresh gel 6 times a day and hypermellose gel thrice a day.
After returning back and after an hour of putting ganciclovir, i put on my well cleaned contact lenses. The vision in my right eye seemed strange. Vision was watery. I was able to read but it was blurry and my head was spinning after it. I put on my lenses after 15 days.

1. What is the reason of watery and blurry vision?
2. Why was my head spinning?
3. Attaching a XXXXXXX pic, does it show any damage to my cornea?

My dear
,thans for getting back to us
These pictures you sent do not have the resolution requied.Since there is a need to start antiviral then the watery vision is due to infiltrate in the visual axis so this line of treatment is ti be goven a chance for a day or two.
Continue with this line of action for some time and you will be better
Do get back to me in case of any further query in thiis regard.

Brief Answer:
conjunctivitis

Detailed Answer:
My dear ,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Since the list is long i will try not to miss any point
Since the improvement is gradual, apart from the total time for complete recovery you should feel gradual recovery. The difference in the amount of trouble 2 days ba ck and today should be significant.
In One week to 10 days there should be significant improvement barring any new development like viral infection.
Bosch and Lomb and silklens are good lenses.
Tears naturale or refresh tears drops can be used for dryness and are freely available.
Lenses are sticking to the eye as your eyes are not healthy yet. What you have is ocular surface disorder.which will need lubricant for a longer period of time.
Any further query,you are welcome.
