Suggest Treatment For Upset Stomach In Infant
Question: Hello doctor, I have a baby of 1 month old. He is on breastmilk formula. He is crying a lot from 3 days due to stomach upset. Please suggest good formula because I have less flow of milk.
His weight is 2.9 now. Birth weight was 2.5 kg.
I am using farex infant formula it seems to be thick after preparation.
I love breastfeeding, plz suggest a good medicine to improve the flow of breast milk.

Usually milk flow will improve if you constantly ensure that you put your baby to your breast every 2 to 3 hours. Even if there is less flow of milk don't worry. As baby sucks frequently milk output will improve by reflex phenomenon.
If you really need to supplement then try Similac advanced stage one.
This is a good product which is used worldwide.
To improve your milk flow you can try perinorm tablets.
I usually prescribe one tablet thrice daily for 4 to 5 days maximum.
Enquire with your doctor before starting the same.
Do not continue using this without seeing your doctor.
As with any medication prolonged unsupervised use can lead to side effects like giddiness vomiting etc.
