Suggest Treatment For Unbearable Pain And Sleeplessness Due To RLS

Question: Hello Doctor: I have suffered restless leg syndrome for years, then finally went on Requip, 2mg daily, 5 yrs ago. Now I have developed sciatica too and only taking Ibuprophen. It hurts left buttock, moves down back & front thigh, and tingles down the leg to the foot. Am miserable with both conditions. Requip works by knocking me out at night BUT doctor only allows me the prescription for 2 mg because he doesn't know anything about Requip; but I'm finding I need to take a morning dose as well in order to make it through day-time hours, otherwise I can't sit down or take a nap...I’m 66 and really need an afternoon nap but can’t sleep or lay still due to RLS and sciatica. What’s worse is I’m caught between doctors: My Kaiser internist is only familiar with Klonopin [which is all that Kaiser prescribes for RLS and it doesn't work for me] so he’s uncomfortable about increasing my dose of Requip to 3 mg [which he only approved in first place based on a prescription my psychiatrist initially gave me to get me through the night once]. Internist wants me to go back to my psychiatrist for adjustments, and psychiatrist wants my internist to take care of it. Catch 22! In short, the restless leg is very bad and the sciatica is very bad. I could never even go one day without the Requip it is that bad. I have pinched feeling along the spine which I believe triggered the intense sciatica ... I moved furniture around my house by myself because I live alone as widow. Then last week I tripped forward through the front door and spine stretched so that's why it's so painful right now. I will appreciate your opinion.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Rest is the main criteria of the ortho treatment.

Detailed Answer:
He, XXXXXXX Welcome to Health care magic forum.
I can understand your problem, rest is the main criteria of the orthopedic treatment.
As you handle the rough work, all the time, the possibility of cure is diminishing. And the structure of the bones and nerves is damaging.
For orthopedic issues, depending on drugs like riquip etc and increasing the dose may not be advisable. The contrasting opinions are immaterial, and you can follow accordingly.
By controlling the neuritis, we should aim at the treatment of pain.
Celexa,Lamictol,Simvastatin, Estradiol, and requip you can continue for health issues. You should also take care of the osteoporosis.
I advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment .
You may need to have an M.R.I. for diagnosis of arthritis, nerve compression, and nerve damage.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms injections of vitamin B1,6,and 12, for 10 consecutive days, and then periodically.
Ofloxacin for 7 days, diclofenac, serratiopeptidase, diclofenac, and paracetamol, calcium, iron preparations, and multivitamins.
Avoid taking potato, other tubers, tomato, egg, chicken, and sea foods when the pain is more.
Rest less leg syndrome is a miserable at this age of 66 years, but aim at comfort.
With this regimen, with your doctors advise, you can get relief of both , and requip 2mg will be sufficient, and you can taper the dose as well.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods, to have early recovery, and good resistance against the infections.
Try to take rest with stretched legs, for fifteen minutes, after every one hour of activity.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
