Brief Answer:
no data supporting the use of probiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
welcome to HCM.
There is no data supporting the routine use of probiotics ( eg:Enterogermina) along with TB drugs. But as they are safe, if you wish to take , you may take them. Observe that i would not recommend them to every patient on antibiotics or TB drugs.
Rifampicin is one TB drug that can alter flora in your intestines and can cause diarrhea (in few). So if you have any symptoms like 2-3 loose stools a day, you may use it for few weeks (say 2-3 weeks), give a gap and can start over at a later time.
When you take it, make sure to take it before lunch, once a day. ALL THE BEST.

Brief Answer:
you can use them

Detailed Answer:
oh .. if dirahhea is proved to be due to antibiotics, you can take them as long as you take the antibiotics (TB drugs), especially so if your symptoms are relieved by taking entero capsules. You may use them for 5 days a week, resting saturday and sunday.
Hope this helped.

sir how can it be identified that my treatment is going well with anti TB antibiotic weekly
doctor
Answered by Dr. Vaddadi Suresh (20 hours later)
Brief Answer:
no reliable markers of clinical response

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Sorry for delay. Well, there are no reliable markers of clinical response other than the size of the lymph node itself.
How ever, indirect evidence of good and correct treatment include 1. gradual fall in ESR 2. Fall in CRP levels 3. improvement in Hb levels 4. increased appetite weight gain, general well being etc.
Hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
It is highly recommended to use the SAME brand

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
TB drug Rifampicin will cause orange to reddish urine. There is no reason to worry about this as it is the way it works. Color may vary from brand to brand and does not indicate efficacy of the drug. TAKE PLENTY OF WATER. Usually color normalizes by evening.
It is highly recommended to use the SAME brand (do not change it) as absorption profiles and drug concentrations (purity) vary from brand to brand.

ALL THE BEST. PLEASE RATE THE DISCUSSION, IF YOU ARE DONE.
