Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible.

Trigeminal arteritis is basically inflammation of an artery supplying areas of face and like every inflammation in needs to be treated with anti inflammatory medications. Patient should be screened for detailed vasculitis screen to rule out similar inflammation else where in the body. Steroids like prednisone given orally have shown to be of benefits. Steroid therapy has to be commenced carefully after discussing with your primary as these can be associated with potential side effects so gastric and protection and bone development supplements should be given along side. Blood thinner like loprin are given to avoid clotting in vessels at inflammation sites. Keep close liason with a rheumatologist and keep regular follow up. if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
