Brief Answer:
Tonsillitis with lymphadenopathy

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic and thanks for putting up the query
The lymph nodes enlargement is probably due to tonsillitis only. You should take the antibiotics.
As the infection will subside, the nodes will regress.
Do hexidine gargles as well.
It would be better if you can send me the picture of your throat so that I can suggest you better.
Avoid pressing or palpating the nodes repeatedly to avoid discomfort.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Take care
Thanks and regards

Brief Answer:
Tonsillitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the information
You are having tonsillitis. The white lesion on right tonsil is tonsillar debris due to infection. Do gargles and take rest of the medicines, it will resolve spontaneously.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Any further questions are always welcome.

My father, age 78, is in excellent health and only takes medication for hypercholesterolemia (low 200 s). He recently started Erythromycin for head and chest congestion and sore throat. After taking this for a few days he had blood blisters erupt in his scalp and ears. His head felt a lot of pressure and he was worried he might be having a stroke. His neck and head were stiff with some numbness in his right arm. He DC d the antibiotic and went to his doctor, who placed him on Prednisone. Now he is a little groggy and isn t feeling well so he stopped the Prednisone. He sounds weak and we aren t sure why he was put on the Prednisone. My question is - why take Prednisone if the blisters are drying up? What is the benefit versus the risks?

I am writing about my 14 year old son, who has been ill repeatedly 4 times for the past 7 weeks. He s been on antibiotics all 4 times, struggles to recover until his antibiotics are nearly gone, finally feels better for a few days and then gets it again. We are wondering if it is valley fever. Can that come with congestion/sinus symptoms? He s been diagnosed with sinus infections each time, but develops not only significant congestion/sinus symtpoms, but also chest pain, horrible coughing, fatigue, sore throat, and is miserable. He has faithfully taken not only strong antibiotics, but prescription strength cough syrup/decongestant, Flonase nasal spray, Zyrtec once a day, and breathing treatments up to 4 times a day, along with vitamin C and lots of fluids. He is otherwise very healthy, but his doctor is concerned that perhaps it is not really sinus infections he has had. I cannot find on the internet where there is a connection between congestion/sinus symptoms and Valley Fever - curious about that as others have asked if he has been tested for it. We live in Phoenix. As a young child he had repeated ear infections, but 4 years ago at age 10 he had his tonsils and adenoids removed, tubes in his ears, and a major sinus surgery. He has been very healthy ever since until now. Any ideas? Thank you verey much!

Have a sore throat for about 5-6 weeks, a cyst in my sinus cavatiy, which I haven t checked for a couple of years, and many diseases. Lupus, Hep C, osteoarthritis, fibromylaghia , and TIA s and heart palps. Tske Metroprolol, and some nutrional Physician pills, Sentra AM, Sentra PM, Theramine, Percura (for the neuropathy), and also now started P Darco pills, and use the tea when I feel like I need it. Helps. I try and eat good, and have a sweet tooth. Trying to curb that, but it is difficult. Just wondered what this sore throat could possibily be, and where to start looking for answers Oh and there is a complex cyst in my thyroid that hasn t been checked,. so obiviously I am getting appt. for the sore throat, and will look into thyroid. Wish I knew doctors in this area that were into the more natural treatments, like biomedicals, etc. Do you know any in this are you could recommend? I live in Kingman, AZ. Thank you for your expertise.

Last month (Early December) I was having ear pain, sore throat, cough, and mucus/runny nose. I also noticed a grouping of about 3 or 4 white spots(inflamed with puss-like characteristics). I had my tonsils removed about 8 years ago. My doctor said I had a regular infection it ll pass in 2 weeks, and the symptoms were gone. Yesterday I looked in my throat and those spots are identical and haven t resolved. When I was younger I had strep with the tonsil stones but this is not it. I snore. Have sore throats in the morning. Sacks or bumps in throat are not at all painful. My tongue is white at the very back of it. Doctor took a culture and it wasn t strep. Also I have put on about 12-20 lbs. since summer of 2010 and. H doctor is worried a out dibetes and cholesterol tests. Does anyone know what this is? Thank you.

I was treated for strep about a month ago. Still have lingering cough . Not bad, but still there. Could this be due to post nasal drip?
