Suggest Treatment For Tiredness And PTSD
Question: should i be concerned about an adrenal gland calcification? i am also chronically fatigued but also have three toddlers under 4 and work full time nights. i have a history of PTSD also that can contribute to my tiredness. i was worried about adrenal insufficiency or whether it is something to further investigate.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Adrenal calcification is not a rare finding in healthy asymptomatic people, and is usually the result of previous haemorrhage, or tuberculosis. Addison's disease patients only occasionally have calcification.
With history of lethargy and tiredness and , that could likely be attributed to the night shifts you have been doing. But get evaluated for adrenal hormones to rule out addison's disease. Adrenal hormonal assays need to be done like ACTH and serum cortisol etc.
Other less likely possibilities of these calcifications are previous trauma, abdominal blunt trauma, history of tuberculosis or childhood troubles like asphyxia or hemorrhage etc.
Most of the time patients come up with everything benign and are purely asymptomatic. But there is no harm in getitng evaluated.
