Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation In The Feet
Question: I have recently had very strange events with either an icy cold tingling that moves from my feet upward or a very hot burning and tingling that moves from my lower trunk area up to my arms, chest and back. I had to call 911 this past Wednesday evening. The ER found no cardiac issues but said it could be a metabolic issue involving the thyroid. I do take a very low dosage for that problem. I'm concerned and don't know what is occurring. I am 79 yrs. and female.
A comment. These events occur unexpectedly not in any order. Not once a week, once a month, once every two months, etc. Just out of the blue--I can feel when they first begin as the tingling burning or icy sensation slowing arrives. They can affect all or part of the body. These have been happening since last year. I keep track of them and had three events over several months last year and this year I have had four all ready.

Brief Answer:
Methylcobalamine supplements should help
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The tingling, burning or icy sensation is likely to be due to neuropathy which often occurs due to deficiency of a B vitamin called methylcobalamine. In such a case clinical examination as well as routine blood investigations are likely to yield normal results. However, if vitamin B12 levels are tested the levels would possibly be lower than optimal.
Taking Methylcobalamine 1500 mcg once daily for at least a couple of weeks should provide relief.
Feel free to write back.
