Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation In The Arms And Face
Question: Hi,
I was hospitalized for a TIA attack. While I was there I had another. Symptoms were different. First was light headed, tingling numb sensations in my right arm and face, immediate fatigue, slowed response. Second one was flailing arms and shaking torso and double vision and intense cold. MRIs and CTs were normal. I was also diagnosed with advanced and severe degeneration of the cervical spine. After I left the hospital I have had three more attacks very much like the first and second one. The flailing arms and double vision and cold diminished when turned my head to the right while on my back. My question is: am I having systems from two things. Thanks. XXXX YYYY@YYYY

The First Group of Symptoms are due to Anterior Circulation TIA
The Second Group of Symptoms are due to Posterior Circulation TIA
During TIA, there is a transient loss or reduction of Blood Supply. So, the CT and MRI may be normal
Since you have having symptoms pertaining to both anterior circulation as well as posterior circulation, I request that you please undergo Cardiac Evaluation too

By Posterior Circulation TIA, We mean Ischemia to Areas of Brain Supplied by Vertebral Arteries and Basilar Artery. These arteries supply Brain Stem
Brain Stem has Cortiospinal Tract and other Motor Tracts of Extra Pyramidal System. These Tract are responsible for maintaining power and tone of muscles. So, flailness is due to reduced blood supply to brain stem because of Posterior Circulation TIA
The Various Nuclei controlling Eye Movements are located in Brain Stem. When there is less blood supply, the eyes do not move uniformly and you develop double vision. This is another classic sign of Posterior Circulation TIA
The Symphathetic Flow comes via Brain Stem. Cold happens when there is dysregulation of Symphathetic Flow
