Question: I am experiencing numbness in my arm on a fairly regular basis, it tingles up and down the arm, normally when I am sitting at my computer and have my hands on my desk for and extended period of time.

Brief Answer:
Get investigated as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Tingling in limbs can be due to cervical radiculopathy due to nerve compression at neck.
Second possibility may be carpal tunnel syndrome due to compression of median nerve at wrist.
Avoid lifting heavy objects.
For treatment you can try pain killers with muscle relaxant like etoricoxib or Aceclofenac with thiocholchicoside or tizanidine.
Pain modulator medication like pregabalin or amitryptiline or gabapentin can be used.

You need to get examined by a neurologist and get a nerve conduction study done.
Further investigation like xray spine, blood sugar, Thyroid profile can be decided after examination by a neurologist.
