Suggest Treatment For Tingling And Numb Feeling In Feet Due To Bunions

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Feb 2015
Question: I have horrible bunions of both feet. I awaiting scheduling availability for surgery. I have always had a problem with tingling and numbness in both feet since these started forming years ago but it was very mild. Now, though it has become severe and is traveling up both my legs and today the right side of the front of my torso. In addition, my toes seem to change color fom normal to white to red to purple and then back. I have been diagnosed with a "connective tissue disorder" and take prednisone 5 mg a day (which I will increase to 10-15 depending on aches and pains) but was told I should stop taking it for 30 days prior to surgery. I don't want to do that because pain and swelling of a very severe nature occur without it. What is wrong with me?

Brief Answer:
For pain and swelling control you can take NSAIDs.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.

You should stop taking steroid gradually before surgery. For pain and swelling control you can take nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs(NSAIDs).Tingling and numbness in both feet could be due to peripheral neuropathy. For tingling and numbness taking pregabalin and methylcobalamin supplement will be helpful. You can take this after consulting your doctor.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.

Take care
