Question: Hello Sir,
My brother is suffering from Tinea Cruris in groin region and in back for almost one year. The local dermatologist has prescribed "Lobate GM" but the patches are re-appearing even after getting cured. Is there any internal medicine avilable for permanent cure?

Brief Answer:
Stop lobate GM cream immediately, take tab terbinafine & luliconazole cream

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints and lobate GM is a totally wrong medicine for tinea infection.
It contains a steroid which will never let the infection cure.
It will only cause temporary suppression of infection but will worsen it in long run.
I would recommend you to immediately stop applying lobate GM cream.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to take oral and topical antifungals.
I would recommend you to take tablet terbinafine 250 mg twice daily and apply luliconazole cream on the affected areas once daily for 3 weeks. Terbinafine is antifungal.
For itching take antihistaminic like tablet levocetrizine 5 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.

Dr Asmeet
