Hello

Most of the time cough and cold are due to viral infections and will resolve in 7-10 days .and generally dont need prolonged medications.

You can take the Azithromycin 500 mg tablet for a total of 5 days and this should generally be enough , please dont change your antibiotic as azithromycin is very effective in upper respiratory infections.

You can also continue the cheston tablet and ambronil cough syrup as they will help in early resolution of the symptoms.

Please ask her to also take steam inhalation 2-3 times a day as it will help soothe her airway.

If she is worsening or not improving even after 7 days , i would like you to meet your physician for a chest xray and further advice.

Please dont worry , she will be fine.

You can ask her to gargle with warm salt water at night and morning , it will help reduce the pain.
