Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately. Based on the history you have shared, yes steroids can cause hair loss and it's not as frequent side effect as are gastric burning, infections susceptibility, bone weakening or increased BP or sugars but also not very less frequent but good thing is that it's usually reversible once you are off treatment.

Psoriasis itself can cause hair loss on the contrary so it needs to be titrated accordingly and treatment should be prompt and adequate. Using supplements for Vitamin D, zinc, iron and vitamin C and E can help to limit this however and help to regrow the hair as well.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.

Do you think I will be likely to lose any hair if I used the cream once on only a couple small spots and than washed the cream off after about 10 or 15 minutes? The spots were on my legs (I don't have scalp psoriasis) if this makes any difference. I washed the cream off after reading about the side effect and do not plan on using it again unless absolutely necessary!

Brief Answer:
It can still cause the hair loss

Detailed Answer:
Hi!
Thanks for sharing the feedback.

Systemic absorption of steroids even through skin is primarily responsible for the side effects and it may occur even with small amounts though controlling the psoriasis is also necessary. Kindly get both lesions re-examined by your primary dermatologist to look for other local causes of hair loss and keep replacing the supplements that have been discussed earlier.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Regards.
