Question: The hair on the front of my head started thinning over the past year and has gotten worse. I live a very healthy lifestyle and the only reason behind It that I could think of was maybe Its hereditary because everyone on my fathers side Is bald. Is there anything I can do to help? I've been doing Rogaine for a few weeks now but thats basically It. I never smoked, drinker or done drugs In my life.

Brief Answer:
Add finasteride

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist).
I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.
You have androgenetic alopecia which is characterized by thinning and receding anterior hair line. Genetic predisposition plays a role in androgenetic alopecia.
In addition to rogaine which is minoxidil I suggest you to also take a tablet of finasteride 1mg once daily (propecia). Finasteride prevents conversion of testosterone to DHT (dihydrotestosterone) which in turn is responsible for hair thinning in androgenetic alopecia.
