Brief Answer:
A Dermatologist consultation may be helpful if needed.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM and thanks for the consult. I have carefully reviewed you health concerns and can well establish the sensitivity of issues you have.

PEPPP or PEP is the skin disease of pregnancy and is thought to be due to overstretched skin. Yes face is mostly spared in this disease.

This kind of pigmentation may take much time to go away. It stays there for long time. It is due to overstimulated melanin pigment in the skin that gives it an abnormally darker look.

You need to keep the skin moisturized. Nothing much can be done to fasten the recovery phase. Wait and see is the best policy.

If you need faster management, you may ask your Dermatologist for more advanced procedures:
dermaabrasion
chemical peels
laser therapy.

Your Dermatologist can help you in understanding the individual procedures and it's you who will have to choose how to proceed.

This kind of lesions pose no long term risk to you or the future pregnancies, I want to assure you. These are benign lesions and have no risk of transforming to malignancy. You should consider manipulation by Dermatologist only if you are bothered cosmetically due to these lesions.

Hope it helps. If you feel any doubts or have more queries, contact me directly at:

Brief Answer:
Yes, you may take Vit. C and E if prescribed, for a reason, by your Physician

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back to HCM. Thanks for adding a follow up query and I can understand your health worries.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is excreted in breast milk but is compatible with breastfeeding (you can take it as a supplement if indicated and prescribed by your doctor). For nursing mothers recommended dose is 120 mg/day in a single dose.

Vitamin E (alpha tocopherol) is also safe to take in lactation. It is also excreted in breast milk and is recommended if used on a prescription by your Physician. Recommended dose in breastfeeding mothers is 19 mg/day by mouth in a single dose.

Both of them have their uses and side effects. The person having low levels of anyone of them can take the recommended dose and is beneficial. But without need, it is not of benefit to supplement any of the vitamins, especially if that is also excreted in breast milk.

Vitamin C and E both are good for skin and overall health. Vitamin C is needed to form the infrastructure of skin, and keeps the tensile strength of skin, giving a young look. It helps in formation of foundations of skin structures (blood vessels, collagen and many more components).

Vitamin E is antioxidant and helps give the skin a fresher look. It saves us from air pollution and its bad effects. For skin it is detoxifying agent and is present in our diet. Vitamin C is also obtained from diet and is rich in citrus fruits.

Hope it helps. Please feel free to ask me if you need further assistance. I will be happy to help. For quick help in future, my direct link is: tinyurl.com/drhanifmd
