Suggest Treatment For Tension Headache
Question: I just discovered that I am having chronic Cervicogenic Headaches through research on the net. I have had a brain scan to rule out a tumor or anurisium and they have been treating it as tension headaches. I am trying to find out what I can do for temporary relief until I can get to my doctor and be treated properly. I have an appointment later this week with my family doctor. Any ideas?

I am sorry for the symptoms you are suffering.
I am glad you had brain scans performed and I assume they were normal. In such case I would treat you with a combination of antiinflamatory pain killers along with amitryptiline. These are prescription only drugs which your local neurologist will know about.
In the interim you can use ibuprofen or excedrin which are both available over the counter until you meet your doctor and discuss about it. That might help you.
