Brief Answer:
Surgical repair is a better option.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
If the tear of labrum is a full thickness one then surgical repair is recommended. Labrum is not very well vascularized so the spontaneous healing is slow. Steroid shots will only help in reducing the inflammation. Healing needs complete rest for at least 4 weeks. There many be thinning due to cyst and that can interfere with normal healing process. The pain will persist till it heals properly.
It is better to get it arthroscopically repaired. It will help in early recovery.
I hope this answers your query.

It can increase further.

Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
In case you ignore the pain and continue with your normal activities then it will not heal and eventually the pain may increase further compelling you to take rest.

Brief Answer:
Images are incomplete.

Detailed Answer:
I have seen the uploaded images. Please upload the report given by the radiologist to assess the depth of the tear.
If the tear is more than partial thickness tear then surgical treatment is recommended.
Regards.

is it normal that the pain radiates to upper chest?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Praveen Tayal (40 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Not a full thickness tear.

Detailed Answer:
I have seen the attached report. It is not likely to be a complete thickness tear. Surgery can be avoided if complete rest is provided to the shoulder joint.
The pain from shoulder can radiate to the upper chest due to associated muscle spasm. Taking oral muscle relaxants will help.
Regards.
