Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Plantar Fasciitis

Posted on Fri, 30 Dec 2016
Question: Have had what I believe to be Plantar Fasitis in my left foot. Would be limping around in the morning and would get better later in the day. At work yesterday while walking around felt a pop in the bottom of the same left foot. Like a tendon or ligament or muscle popped. Immediately after the pop i started limping around. My foot did not swell up or get discolored nor did my foot feel any rush of blood. Have been limping ever since with dull pain on the scale of a 3 on 1-10 scale. I have had the Plantar Fascitis for several months and did some excercises to stretch on and off even though I did not seek medical evaluation.

Brief Answer:
Continue stretches. Medication, lifestyle modification

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

Do you have any pain at the back of the heel ?

Are you able to move your ankles normally up and down, or do you evidence restriction in downward able movement ?

Plantar fascitis can be treated successfully conservatively with Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day after meals and Tablet Rabeprazole twice a day before meals for 5 days. Use Microcellular rubber footwear. Do Plantar fascia and calf muscle stretching exercises. Reduce weight and keep fit with diet management and regular exercise.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

I can move my ankle up and down. Can you advise what did I feel yesterday with the "Pop" in the bottom of my affected foot with just normal walking activity. Is that something to do with my Plantar region?

Also I do not have any pain at the back of my heel on affected foot.

Brief Answer:
Excessive stretch of Plantar fascia

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,

The pop could be excessive stretching of the plantar fascia. Nothing to worry, just follow the advises
