Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Migraine Headache
Question: I get headache once in a while, which lasts for several hours. I get two type of headaches:
Type 1: It start from the front or side of the head and spreads to other parts of the head. This lasts for 3-4 hours and then the intensity reduces by night but it continues, and attains full intensity by next day noon. Trigger starts at around 12 noon. Tried many painkillers but only Vasograin is helping, when taken immediately when it triggers.
Type 2: Starts from the back lower part of head (near the neck) at a particular point. It slowly spreads to the whole back portion of the head. This headache generally starts in between 12 noon to 3PM. Its intensity increases towards evening and finally goes away at around 9AM. This process continues for 2-3 days. In a month, this headache get triggered 3-4 times (and lasts 2-3 days each time). I have not tried any medicine, as it is guaranteed to go away in the night.
Are both these headaches due to different or same reasons? Is this Migraine? Please suggest a safe painkiller that takes care of both the above type of headaches.

What are the other symptoms of "organic brain pathology"?
I want to avoid a CT scan as this headache is not new to me and I have been facing this for several years. The type 2 (headache starting from back of the head), mentioned in my description, is a new thing which started about 10 months back.
Any tablet available with both analgesics and antimigranous, which I can try for relief?

Without imaging, it's not all wise to go ahead with medications.
Considering the type 2 pain, it is important to go for MRI brain and cervical spine instead of CT scan.
Organic brain pathology symptoms may present with headache, vision disturbances, neck pain, vomiting etc.At a given moment only one or more symptoms may be present.
Hence, to conclude, I advise you to get MRI brain and cervical spine for further evaluation.

I do not have any of the symptoms like vomiting, neck pain or vision issues, except that I use a reading glass.
I had to undergo a hernia surgery, under spinal anesthesia, about two years back . Is the headache due to a side effect of this spinal anesthesia?
