Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Lower Respiratory Tract Infection

default
Posted on Mon, 3 Oct 2016
Question: I am having severe cold from last 20 days. Symptoms include severe sneezing, runny nose, eyes burning, mucous formation in throat and slight headache.

Since I have Ashtma, I am feeling uncomfortable with mucous formation and using Asthalin Inhaler when required. Thinking it might be coming from allergy, i used Citerzen tablets 4 times in last 1 week but still except on that day, symptoms are coming back.

All this started after I took a dip in XXXXXXX river for XXXXXXX Pushkarams. May be some allergy picked up from there.

Hi,
Thank you for query.

It should be lower respiratory tract infection.
You can take Tab Allercet DC once at bed time for 3 days.
Take Syp Salmucolite 10ml thrice daily for 5 days, but these medications are available only with doctor's prescription.
Drink plenty of fluids at least 4-5 litres per day.

If it is severe, then consult a pulmonologist and get your chest examined.

Get back if any query.

Hi Sir,

I started using medicines suggested. On first day there is big relief from cold, burning eyes, chest congestion and sneezes. But on second day all these symptoms are back except for chest congestion. I completed 2 day course of suggested medicines and one day is still left.

Should I complete the course for results or is this something else and I should see doctor in person or change medication?

Please suggest.

Thanks,
XXXX
