Brief Answer:
Clots in legs cause pain and swelling and they can dislodge.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.

Blood clot in leg can be in deep or superficial veins.
Clots are characterised by pain and swelling.
If there is inflammation of vessel vein, it causes redness also.
Clots can move from one position and this occurs due to dislodgement of origin clot.
Dislodged small clots can be dangerous since they can block small vessels in lungs.
Thus, it is important to diagnose the condition and institute proper treatment.
Doppler ultrasound is the investigation of choice for clots in legs.

Thanks and take care
