Suggest Treatment For Swollen Hand After Spider Bite

Question: Swollen hand across 3 knuckles... possible spider bite. Used ice and cortisone crème since 6 am this morning. Ice relieves the itch... swelling has not gone down. Pharmasist suggested ice, cortisone crème and Benadryl.

Thanks for the query.
Such type of insect bites take couple of days to settle.
Treatment consists of anti allergic medicines like Benadryl 2-3 times a day with ice application and ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day and is being correctly followed by you.
In case swelling or pain doesn't settle or if it increases,then it would mean an infection and would require a curse of antibiotics.Till then just wait and watch.Hopefully you shall be all right in next couple of days with current treatment.
