Posted on Wed, 12 Apr 2017
Question: I woke up this morning with a swollen right foot. I have minimal movement in my toes, my skin around and under my big toe is red, and the bone spur in my heal is very painful to the touch. Is this something that requires a doctor visit or will ice and advil be ok?

Brief Answer:
Gouty arthritis and Plantar fascitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

It's possible that you have Gout arthritis of the big toe.

Apply ice. Take Advil. Get Your Serum Uric acid levels tested in the blood. Also joint aspiration may be required for testing. Drink plenty of water. Avoid meat and their gravies, beer, avocado.

Use Microcellular rubber footwear. Perform plantar fascia and calf muscle stretching exercises.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
