Suggest Treatment For Swollen Foot And Leg

Question: Earlier this year I cracked. My left ankle, cracked my foot and my femur up high on the left leg also. I must have done something to my left knee also because there's a little water there. These were all due to falls on learning how to walk again. Anyway my personnel physcian orders ultersound on my left leg for blood clots, then the ultersound lady thought she saw something wrong at the top part in the veins. So my doctor sent me to a vein specialist and there was nothing wrong with my veins and there were no blood clots. Just lately I broke my big toe my foot doctor wanted to let it go for a little whit to see if it would heal on its own and it didn't so I ended up having surgery on my birthday July 31 the surgery went well he said the joint was mushing and he ended up fuseing it due to the gout I have. My knee is swollen and my leg is awfully swollen I have been putting ice on the foot and the knee. Can you tell me what else I can do to get the swelling down, or what?

Brief Answer:
Do a hot compress.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The swelling on the foot and leg is likely to be due to lack of proper activity. This can be helped by keeping the leg elevated on two pillows while resting.
You can do hot compress and massage to improve the blood circulation in the legs. It will help with a better blood circulation. There is no need of a cold compress now.
I hope this answers your query.
