Brief Answer:
Keep your feet elevated and wear compression socks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

--I think the problem you are describing may be related with your staying on your feet. It is normal for woman in your age to have leg swelling in the ankles at the end of a day while staying standing for a long time. This swelling is around your ankles, and very slightly a bit above, but not on the shins. Again, this is normal and should go away in a few days.
--Your medicines seem very good ones, which do not give leg swelling but reduce it.
--If your blood pressure is under control, you should not worry about a heart problem.
--On the other side, I don't think it is related with deep vein problems. To rule that out, you can try to measure the diameter of the calves and they should be the same of with a difference of less then 2 cm in diameter. This type of pain in general would be in the calves or above.
--I don't think it is a kidney problem, because the swelling in that case would be in the face, around the eyes mostly and in your hands.

So, my if I was your caring doctor, my recommendations are that you rest these days, keep your feet elevated as much as possible, if you are staying standing try to keep moving and avoid staying in one place, measure your blood pressure and make sure it is under normal values, wear compression socks if possible, to avoid further swelling.

It should not give you problems during the flight, especially if you move a bit every 1 hour. If worse or not better, I would recommend seeing a local doctor.

Hope this is helpful.
