Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Right Leg
Question: my calf on right leg swells every day whether I sit,or walk or even sleep. MY leg gets red and I cant bear weight most of the time. THIS problem has been on going for a long time and is getting worse. I DO NOT have blood clots . WHY does my calf and even knee keep swelling?

Hi
When swelling of lower limb is associated with redness,it could be Cellulitis.It is infection of skin and subcutaneous tissue.I prescribe Antibiotic like Linezolid 600mg twice daily along with anti inflammatory tablet to my patients with similar complaints.
Another possibility is Lymphoedema.
I prefer to take a Colour doppler of the affected limb.
Please consult a General surgeon,get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
