Brief Answer:
Inflammation of hair follicle is closest possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hello My Dear

Welcome to this site.
I am Dr V XXXXXXX a Dermatologist.

I have examined the pic and noted your concern.
This represents, in all probability, an infected hair follicle alongside which the oil producing glands open on to the surface through a duct.

This might have appeared due to an infection due to germs multiplying in the area/ sweating.

To most of my patients, I give following suggestions and these work very well.

1 good hygiene
2 Mupirocin cream locally several times a a day
3 Amoxy-Clav 625 twice a day for oral use
4 Multivitamin preparation.

The problem can be avoided from recurring with good hygiene and wearing garments that permit ventilation in the area

I am sure you will make good use of suggestions and let me know if you need further help.

Best wishes

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics will need doctor prescription

Detailed Answer:
Hello My Dear

Nice to know about that the problem seems to be receding.

You are right that some medicines like antibiotic Amoxy-Clav will need a prescription, while others can be purchased as OTC preparations.

It is not sexually transmitted disease.

It is good that swelling is less. Using medications is likely to lead to even faster recovery.

I would like to know how you are faring. Should you need any help, just send a query.

My best wishes for good health.
