Question: Hello Dr,
I have Multiple sclerosis, and switched to Copaxone In XXXXXXX . Three months in I thought I had a yeast infection treated to no avail . Whatever it was , got worse and my Dr treated bacterial infection. I made him check for every STD even though not active and focusing on health.... all good . I'm so swollen inside he had to call in two Percocet to do exam next day. Right groin lymph node swollen and low fever . Desperate for answers I searched copaxone rare side effects and vaginal discharge was a side affect . I won't be those women , I don't want support group to complain ... I m trying to find someone who has heard of this. Discharge has no odor but the second it starts to decend , its like acid on my skin and if I don't catch it in time , literally blisters my labia and makes them desert dry , and blistered my inner thigh . off chance allergy , due many medication allergies. .. I took Benadryl .... takes itch away completely and if I wear a tamponand Desirin lol I m okay . I don't think a tampon at all times is healthy ?? I don't know if it's a factor but multiple sclerosis drugs lowered WBC avg 1.4-2.4. Lymph count back to acceptable . I catch every cold and if break in my skin impetigo . Eczema doesn't help with that . I need to stay on my MS medication . I'm done having children so would a partial ( leave ovaries ) hysterectomy end discharge???? I don't want band aid I need one less thing stressing my body out !!! Thank you , any input or idea will be greatly appreciated. I don't want to look insane when I ask my Doctors if I'm allergic to myself :)

Brief Answer:
Hysterectomy will give relief.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The vaginal discharge that you have is likely to be related to the hormonal changes as all the infections have been ruled out. The lymph node enlargement can be a reactionary lymph node enlargement or due to the blisters the discharge causes on the labia.
It is the pH of the discharge that causes the irritation and not the allergy. Getting a hysterectomy done will decrease all the discharge and can restore your normal routine.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Leaving the ovaries intact will decrease the sudden gush of discharge. The vaginal mucosa never causes a huge discharge so as to flow and cause blisters.
The sudden heavy discharge without any detectable infection is due to the hormonal changes. The intact ovaries will release the hormones but the cervical glands will not be there to cause the discharge.
Such a case like yours is a rare one and detailed local examination is also needed to find the cause of such a discharge.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Brief Answer:
Do get the blood tests done.

Detailed Answer:
The pH can be balanced with frequent washes with a neutral vaginal wash. The hormonal imbalance cannot be corrected forever. It is a good idea to get the blood evaluated for the infections.
Please do check with your gynecologist regarding this.
Regards.
