Question: My ankl is swollen and there's a red rash above the ankle. I ve had gout and kidney stones. All blood work was excellent in April. I'm 70 and work every day. I'm not obese. I work every day but Sunday selling cars. My blood pressure is normal and I've passed all stress tests within last year. Ice and rest help.

Brief Answer:
sevral possible causes

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
Well if there is only one ankle swollen then I dont think this is related to heart, blood pressure or kidney issues. If you didnt have any trauma , bite or prick then it is hard that this is celulitis either. It may be noninfectious arthritis seen in gout or venous oedema seen in varicose vein or deep vein thrombosis. So I suggest to do xrays of ankle, doppler ultrasound of leg and check your inflammatory markers. This will reveal possible diagnoses. till that try to rest, apply cold compresse,s take nonsteroid painkillers and keep leg elevated. Wish you good health. Regards
