Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain Around The Gums Covering One Of The Wisdom Teeth

Question: Dear Dr.

My corner teeth has a gum cover over it.A part of tooth is visible to me which is covered by the gum, I think it is my Wisdom Tooth. The gum has swollen a bit and im feeling a pain because of that.Also the upper end tooth is in pain.

Please suggest some prescription on this in order to lesson the pain.

Hi,

From your explanation it looks like inflammation of the gum flap over the wisdom tooth.
This condition is known as Pericoronitis.

It commonly occurs due to food debris accumulation better the tooth and gum flap.

For now you can take anti inflammatory painkillers like Advil to reduce pain.
Also do warm saline gargles and antiseptic mouthwash gargles.

If the pain worsen or starts swelling then you should consult a Dentist and get a prescription of antibiotic like Augmentin.
