Question: I was in the hopsital with a large bowel obstruction resolved with no surgery just fluids and NG tube . They feel I have a swelling/inflammation issue. hence I ignored diarrhea flares for 2 years and took predisone I keep on hand for my angioedema. I was sent to GI who did blood work Sed rate CRp are normal. But my WBC neutrophills are high as well as BUN . MY AFT is also only at 1.1 and my GFT is low . Is this part of an inflammatory condtion of the intestines ?

Brief Answer:
colonic obstruction. diverticulitis. irritable bowel disease

Detailed Answer:
Gosh,
good you saw the specialist. Just to remind that online consultation has its own limitations.
Well get a colonoscopy done and you will get your diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is established then the treatment becomes easy.
though it may be diverticulitis, irritable bowel disease like ulcerative colitis etc. I would suggest you to refrain from internet search. Let the GI surgeon or a colorectal surgeon lead you to an accurate diagnosis and following treatment.
Take care.
wish you early recovery and good health
