Question: I bit my toungue very hard. It is slightly swollen with a little bump on one side. I think I re-injure it at night while I sleep.

Hello,

The bump and swelling seem to be due to the result of tongue bite. The wound will heal itself in 4 to 5 days.

Meanwhile, you can continue to apply ice, have cool foods, suck on ice-pops. Apply numbing cream like Orajel if the pain is bothersome. Avoid spicy food. In case you experience repeated tongue biting, I'd suggest following up with your dentist for a dental check-up.
