Answered by Dr. Dr. Erion Spaho (40 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
NSAID drugs and physical therapy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
First stages of lower back pain, without leg pain or significant symptoms ( difficulty walking, sleeping and working, urinating problems) are treated best with a couple of days rest, NSAID drugs and when pain subsides, physical therapy.
This needs to be correlated with imaging findings and in your case disc protrusion correlates with first stage of disc herniation.
Remember not to lift heavy weights, and not to bend over excessively.
Hope this answers your question.
If you have further questions feel free to ask.

Brief Answer:
Safety details with regard to Arthrotec...

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for asking again.
Arthrotec is a combination medication that contains Diclofenac ( NSAID) and Misoprostol ( used to protect your stomach from possible Diclofenac damage).

Side effects of Arthrotec include side effects of Diclofenac and Misoprostol and one of them consists in rarely affecting kidney function.

Best thing to do is to control your symptoms with the more possible minimal dosage of the drug.

Kidney function tests help in deciding the correct dosage and frequency of the Arthrotec.

If you control your symptoms with taking Arthrotec periodically, this is the best thing for you.

However if you don't control your symptoms sufficiently, I don't any problem in using Arthrotec daily.

Side effects related to kidney function usually happen in previously damaged kidney function, using other drugs etc.

Hope this helped. If you have further questions feel free to ask.

Brief Answer:
Lyrica is ok also.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

If Lyrica is improving significantly your symptoms, it's ok use it, bearing in mind possible side effects of it, however Lyrica ( Pregabalin) usually is started in advanced stages of neuropathic pain.

Usually starting treatment consists on NSAID drugs.

Care must be taken when Lyrica is stopped, this should be done gradually.

Hope this helps. Wishing you good health.

Dr is it possible for to take both ARTROTEC And LYRICA at the same time, and is it advicerble to take LYRICA for one month once daily
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Erion Spaho (21 hours later)
Brief Answer:
They could be used together.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.

Arthrotec and Lyrica belong to different groups of drugs and there aren't reported interactions between them, so they could be used together.

Lyrica is used single dosage for 5-7 days and the dosage could be raised if there are not satisfactory results.

It can be used for a month or longer, depends on indications and disease.

Hope this answers your question. Wishing you good health.
