Question: Red facial flush, painful like sunburn, reoccurring about every 3 to5 weeks, also on upper arms at times. Hot to touch. Nothing that I can determine triggers it. Lasts about 48 hours.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. There can be a number of possible causes behind your problems.
* You need to get your blood tested for IgE levels. It is a marker of allergic reaction and increased IgE levels could give a similar presentation.
* It could be due to hormone deprivation which is quite likely to occur at your age. A gynecologist would be able to be confirm on it. Taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) should provide relief.
* Your blood needs to be checked for Antinuclear antibody (ANA) which is just one of many markers of autoimmune reaction which could give you such a presentation. If autoimmune cause is present, you would benefit for immunosuppressants.

A hit and trial method might be needed since your presentation is not typical.
