Brief Answer:
Diffuse lipoma.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Your GP has already examined you and said (what I was feeling was the top of my liver) and He could not feel the lump you are feeling. This means to me that the swelling which you are feeling is over the liver area and can not locate the lump in lying down position.

Form this history my impression is that this is a diffuse lipoma- very difficult to diagnose and locate. This may be confirmed by a high resolution ultrasonography. If this can be located , FNAC may be done.

Stomach discomfort may be due to other cause and not related to the lump. If you have an issue with bowel movements, please go for the tests of stool- routine, microscopy and any other tests which your GP thinks so. IF He is not accepting your version, you may take a second opinion of another Doctor.

Brief Answer:
Be NOT worried

Detailed Answer:
If this is diffuse lump, you should not be concerned. Diffuse lipoma is not easily felt so it is possible that many Doctors would miss it. I can understand your worries. Please get this checked by high resolution ultrasonography. Occasional soft stools may be due to dietary factors.

Okay many thanks..the stomach discomfort is usually located below under the breast bone.. just a weird sensation that is all, I will have to get an ultrasound then, why would my gp say I was feeling the top of my liver though??

Brief Answer:
Looks nothing serious, get few investigations

Detailed Answer:
Great, it is difficult for me to know what your GP thought. Our aim should be get to the correct diagnosis for the right treatment to be instituted and to alleviate the fears and to get to the root of the problem.

< The stomach discomfort is usually located below under the breast bone.. just a weird sensation > This can be due to just a stress or a muscle pull or acidity. There are no other associated symptoms associated with bowel so nothing to worry. Many times the examinations or investigations are done to ''rule-out'' certain problems. Since your noted age here is just 22 , we can NOT really think of rare things like cancer or so, no one should.

If the discomfort increases on pressure on this particular point or area, nothing much to worry. Ultrasonography and such investigations to be done to rule out any somatic problem .
