Suggest Treatment For Stiff Leg While On Gabapentin
Question: my grandmother aged 75 got some problem 3 years ago. when she woke up she felt her left half stiff . with tears coming from left eye automatically. and current type of feeling in left part like chillies have been spread.
she was prescribed vitamin b complex with b12 ,ecosprain 75mg and amlodipine and atenolol tablests. her problem got reduced but not cured completely.
After initial treatment the problem got reduced only to leg below knee. But since last one month the pain and burning sensation has increased a lot in right feet now. Right now she is having extreme burning , pain in right feet only like hot coal has been placed.
7 days ago she was adviced to take gabapentin 100 mg thrice. It gave her relief around 60-70 percent. But still she has burning although less in intensity. And it usually happens around time when she take a dose of gabapentin. Then after some time she feels okay.

I want to correct myself. The extreme burning I mentioned right now was actually 1 week before. Right now it is reduced.

The dose needs to be increased. For my patients, I increase the dose to 300 mg two times daily (after 10-14 days of 100 mg thrice daily).
