default
Posted on Mon, 23 Oct 2017
Question: I got what I think was a spider bite about a month ago on the back of my upper arm, the bite was red and itched and sore to the touch, now I have a hot red rash that is spreading up and down my arm in both directions surrounding the bite. It is very itchy. The bite is still visible but much smaller, should I treat this at home or seek medical help

Brief Answer:
see a doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
This is concerning for infection or inflammation. A bite from a month ago should be cleared up by this time.
Use warm compresses on it but try to see a doctor today if possible. If not, get seen as soon as you can.
If it is infection then you will need antibiotics. You need an in person exam to determine this.
I hope it is resolved soon.
