Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Fever In A Child
Question: Hi Doctor, My son age is 3.5 years, he is suffering with soar throat and fever. Please suggest for relief tips

Sore throat and fever at this age is usually viral .
Viral infections may take upto 3 to 5 days to show full improvement, but partial improvement will be seen in 3 days.
Yes you can continue parexia and ascoril ls
. Give plenty of liquids to keep your child well hydrated. If your child is active and playful, able to drink liquids atleast and fever is showing a declining trend, no need for other medicines.
But throat is inflammed with red and white spots and fever is high and not responding in 2 to 3 days after initial dose of parexia, antibiotics may be needed.
I usually prescribe amoxicillin for atleast 5 days if bacterial infection is suspected .
